Elephant Takes Selfie While Mistaking Phone for Food

An elephant in Thailand snatched Christian Le Blanc's GoPro Camera and took a selfie, or as the internet has taken to calling it, an "elphie." Christian Le Blanc was visiting Koh Phangan from Vancouver, Canada when the incident took place.

"I quickly ran out of bananas and the elephant swiftly reached for my GoPro camera. Luckily it was on a continuous filming setting so the whole thing was captured."

Le Blanc posted the picture on Instagram which has received more than 2,000 likes.

Apparently, this was not the first occurrence of the "elphie." Another elephant at West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire successfully attempted the act while mistaking a visitor's phone for food. Both devices were remarkably unharmed.
