Jacky Lo, a wealthy teenager from Hong Kong, has recently come under fire for animal cruelty. Lo posted disturbing pictures of his dog in an active washing machine on Facebook. The dog survived the first washing but died during the second. He seems to feel absolutely no remorse for his sickening actions. Lo said in the comments section of his post that "I don’t even think human cruelty is a problem, not to mention cats and dogs!"
The internet has not taken kindly to Lo's actions. Various online petitions were started, with one garnering nearly 20,000 signatures and another over 4,000. Lo's Facebook was deleted promptly after he announced that he would kill more animals.
According to Hong Kong's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance of 1997, those who mistreat animals "shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $200000 and to imprisonment for 3 years." Lo claimed that he would leave the country to avoid prosecution. It is unknown if he has actually left or is still in China.
