Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's hair is going on auction by Sotheby’s, a global art business. The lock of hair is preserved in a tiny locket.
The bits of hair are said to be from 1791 and are valued at £10,000 (approximately $15,302). In addition to the lock of hair, an invitation to the composer's funeral is also being sold separately along with other strands of hair.
One lock of Mozart's hair was auctioned and sold for £38,240 (around $58,547) at a different auction in 2002. The amount was twice what was expected.
Mozart was known for such pieces as The Magic Flute, Symphony No. 40, and The Marriage of Figaro. The German composer died in 1827.
