Ben Affleck's stunt double has been photographed on the set of DC's 2016 film, "Suicide Squad." The film features multiple villains from the Batman universe partnering together to cause mayhem. Affleck is set to appear as Batman earlier in 2016 in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" on March 25.
Affleck's double was seen riding on top of a red car, which Jared Leto's (who plays the Joker) stunt double was driving along with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in the passenger seat.
It was previously rumored that Batman would appear in "Suicide Squad," but now it is apparent that he will be part of the film, although it is not clear how substantial his role will be. Will Smith will also be appearing in "Suicide Squad" as an assassin named Deadshot.
The director of the film, David Ayer, tweeted earlier, saying "I believe in old school filmmaking. Real stunts. Real people. Real places. It makes all the difference on the screen. Thank you #Toronto."
With Marvel dominating the theaters with almost all their films, it will be interesting to see if DC can catch up with more than just their Batman films in terms of sales. DC also plans to release "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League Part One" in 2017, "The Flash" and "Aquaman" in 2018, with others to follow.
