'Chicken Church' in Indonesia

Although the structure was not supposed to resemble a chicken, the locals in Magelang, Indonesia have taken to calling it the "chicken church."

The building was actually supposed to resemble a dove when it was initially conceived by Daniel Alamsjah through a dream he had in the late 80's. Construction was abandoned in early 2000, after being worked on for most of the 90's.

Alamsjah is a Christian, but claims that the structure was not built as a church, but as a house of prayer for those of any religion. The site serves mostly as a tourist destination now that it has been abandoned.
